Nothing will brighten up your landscape like fresh mulch. While new mulch looks great, it is also important to that you have the right amount (3-4” is generally desirable). Beds should be topped off each year with a thin layer rather than mounding it up every couple years. It helps keep pesky weeds from germinating while keeping moisture in the ground to strengthen your plants root systems.
Rock installation is another good alternative to mulch. It provides a great fresh look for your landscape beds as well as helping to prevent eye sores more commonly known as weeds.
