The client came to us in late winter with a challenge
“I purchased a heavily sloped lot, and I need a landscaper who can turn it into a space where everyone wants to spend time.”
We immediately saw the opportunity.
This project demanded serious retaining wall expertise. These were no ordinary walls — they stand 15 feet tall and span the entire backyard. The homeowner made one thing clear: “I need walls that will never fall over.”
That’s exactly what we delivered.
The rib rock retaining wall system used throughout the backyard is one of the heaviest and most structurally sound wall materials on the market — engineered for permanence, built for generations.
But what truly sets this project apart isn’t just the structural achievement. It’s the experience.
Illuminated stair treads guide you through the space. Under-cap lighting casts a warm glow across the retaining walls. Clean patio lines and precise finishing details bring everything together with intention and craftsmanship.
At the time of construction, this was the largest project we had ever completed, measured by the combined square footage of retaining walls and patio. No expense was spared. Every detail was designed and built to last.
The result is more than a backyard — it’s a destination. A space built for connection, relaxation, and memories that will last for decades.
Let the memories begin.
Key Features
- Rib Rock “Big Block” Wall: Offering the longevity and structural integrity
- Glowing Staircase: Yes, the stairs actually glow in the dark.
- Open concept: The project was designed in a way that allowed for the maximization of the view from the backyard deck and patio.
- Under Cap and Rope Lighting: Offering beauty when the parties last into the evening.
Given the work on these retaining walls… I would recommend Western to anybody
