Project description
After adding an addition to the back of their home, our client reached out wanting to upgrade their outdoor area. Having been long-time lawn care clients, Evan knew the property and came prepared with ideas on how to enhance the space.
The client’s wishlist:
- Natural look hardscape to form a patio area from the bottom of the staircase over to the corner of the new addition.
- Step down from the new addition
- Refresh the area by air conditioner that ties into the new hardscape.
- Advice on how to grade the yard. Do not want a retaining wall if possible.
Evan got to work planning and designing, bringing their wishlist to life. Overlooking a beautiful view, adding a patio below their new deck would be perfect for spending time with family and friends and watching the sunset.
The addition having been completed, Western was given the go-ahead to get started. The crew started by installing a paver patio and adding rock beds. The lawn was graded and sod was installed towards the end of the project, making everything tie together.
Luke Brinkmeier, Western’s foreman on the job, worked closely with Evan and the client, making some changes along the way and ensuring that everything went smoothly. Upon completion of the project, Evan and Kyle confirmed that everything was completed to the client’s satisfaction.
This project was completed in early spring, making the space ready to use for the upcoming summer months.

We had just finished a major renovation and addition to our home and 1/2 of our yard was completely torn up and unsuitable to even plant grass seed. Western came and installed a hardscape (paver patio), regraded the back yard, applied top dressing, buried downspouts, installed garden/rock beds with edging, and installed sod. Their onsite and office team was very easy to communicate with. Their original bid was very detailed with itemization of products and labor.
